the 1747 Pub

The 1747 Pub

The 1747 Pub is in the original kitchen and ‘Hat Shop’ of William Reynolds. It has stone and brick walls, walk-in fireplace, low ceilings, brick floors, and the original stairwell from the 1737 construction. In the 1950s, the cellar was the Childrens’ Library for the Anne Arundel Public Library System. A cozy spot for lunch, dinner, happy hour, or a drink with friends where guests get a glimpse into history.

In the Spring, Summer and early Fall join us in the lower Courtyard featuring daily lunch and dinner, Live Music, Jazz night Wedensdays with the Unified Jazz Ensemble and Dinner Under the Stars, monthly Outdoor Movie Screenings on select Sunday Nights, and the Classic Theatre of Maryland performs every Tuesday evening.

The Courtyard is located directly behind Reynolds Tavern, and has an entrance on Franklin Street. The space was originally housed stables kept by William Reynolds for his traveling guests. Make sure you take a look at the old Smoke House behind the outdoor bar (circa 1737) and the Old Magnolia tree that sits in the corner of the property.

The indoor Pub and the lower Courtyard are great locations to consider to host your next ‘Historic Annapolis’ event!
